Art Gallery Posters
Each poster responds directly to the exhibition’s focus on Detroit’s history, rebellion, resilience, and artistic reinvention. I used bold, contrasting color palettes and graphic tension to echo the social upheaval and industrial grit that define the era. The halftone stars, fractured letterforms, and sharp geometric divisions reference protest iconography and Detroit’s visual language of activism.
Photographs of decayed objects and wreckage are integrated as central elements, symbolizing both the destruction and creativity that shaped Detroit’s cultural landscape. Across the series, typography, layout, and imagery work together to capture the raw energy of Detroit’s past while honoring the artists who transformed hardship into a powerful creative legacy.
